Introduction
- Lieutenant General Manoj Pandey is the first army officer from the corps of engineers to become the Army Chief after General Naravane’s term ends on 30th April 2022. according to officials, The Cabinet Appointments Committee, chaired by the Prime Minister, approved the proposal to designate Manoj Pandey as the next Chief of Army Staff. He has previously served as the vice chief of army staff General Officer-Commanding-in-Chief of Eastern Command and also as the Commander-in-Chief (CINCAN) of Andaman and Nicobar Command.

- The Father of Manoj is Dr. C. G. Pandey, a consulting Psychotherapist who retired as the Head of the Department of Psychology from Nagpur University his Mother is an announcer and a host with All India Radio. He married Archana Salpekar, who is a gold medallist from Government Dental College and Hospital, Nagpur on 3 May 1987.
Educational Background
After completing Somalwar High School, then he enrolled in 61st National Defence Academy (NDA) course in January 1979 and was assigned to the Lima squadron, where he graduated with a degree in Bachelor of Science.
Then, he joined the Indian Military Academy after graduating from the NDA and was commissioned as an officer. Following that, he received a Bachelor of Technology degree in Civil Engineering from the College of Military Engineering in Pune.
