Introduction

Sidhu Moose Wala’s real name was Shubhdeep Singh Sidhu. He had worked in different professions throughout his life. Such as Singing, Rapping, Acting, and Politics. Sidhu started his journey in the music industry as a lyricist. The first song written by him is “license” sung by Ninja. The first song sung by Sidhu was in collaboration with Gurlez Akhtar. Later he appeared in various Brown Boyz tracks as a Duet. The track was released under the banner of Humble Music.
Sidhu Moose Wala was promoting gun culture in his songs. Same time challenging religious beliefs and sentiments. He also had to face strict action for spreading gun culture and using hurtful language in his songs. There were four Criminal cases that remained unsolved against him. Sidhu was a member of the Congress Party. Although he failed in Punjab 2022 Legislative Assembly Election from Mansa district.

Shubhdeep was born in a farmer’s family in the village of Moosa in the Mansa district of Punjab, India. He belonged to a Sikh family, his Father’s name is Balkaur Singh and his mother’s name was Charan Kaur. Sidhu graduated from the Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College, Ludhiana as an electrical engineer in 2016. He was influenced by the famous American actor and singer 2pac or later known as Makaveli. When he was in 6th class, he used to listen to Hip Hop music. He horns his musical skills with the help of Harvinder Bittu in Ludhiana. He chose Moose Wala as his Official Stage name in Honour of his birthplace Moosa. After his graduation was completed, he moved to Brampton, Ontario, Canada.

Sidhu started his political career by campaigning for his mother. His efforts did not go in vain. His mother became the Serpanch of Moosa Village in December 2018. On 3 December 2021 Moose Wala joined congress. He fought for Punjab 2022 Legislative Assembly Election. Nazar Singh Manshahia was against the Congress Candidacy of Sidhu. Although, he had to face his worst defeat by the Aam Aadmi Party Candidate Vijay Singla by the margin of 63,323 votes.

On 29 May 2022, Sidhu went out to meet his aunt in Barnala. He was accompanied by his cousin, neighbor, and his father. Sidhu was driving his SUV Mahindra Thar and his father was following him in another car. When they reached Jawarharke they were blocked by the car. Some unknown person began shooting from all sides. Sidhu also replied with his pistol. After the shootout, the culprits left the place. His father took him to the civil Hospital in Mansa district. Where he was declared dead.
When the murder took place. Sidhu was not in the bulletproof car nor he was accompanied by the police commandos. A day before his murder took place his security had been reduced to two instead of four commandos. The reason for reducing his security was the preparation of Operation Blue Star.

It’s been said that the murder was revenge for the killing of Vicky Middhukhera. It had been assumed that Moose Wala had a role in the killing of Middukhera (The Gangster Goldy Brar a Canadian gangster of Indian origin). Lawrence Bishnoi claimed that the Brar Punjab network had carried out the killing. Punjab Police confirmed it later and also mentioned Bishnoi’s involvement in the case.
An FIR by police revealed that he was receiving death threats from Gangster for extortion. Singer Mika Singh had confirmed it too.
Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann and many other celebrities expressed their condolences. CM had ordered an investigation into the murder case of the Moose Wala. CM asked the question of why the security had been reduced a day before the murder of the Moose Wala. Till now police had arrested six suspects in the case.
The Delhi unit Indian National Congress held a protest on 30 May. It was outside the home of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. They were blaming the AAP for the murder and reducing the security of Moose Wala.

In September 2019, Moose Wala got into trouble over one of his songs “Jatti Jeone Morh Wargi.” Which was defaming a 17th-century Sikh women warrior, Mai Bhago. Representatives from the Sikhs demanded a ban on the song.
In May 2020, Moose Wala appeared in the video practicing with AK- 47 with six other police officers. A case was registered against all of them and the police officers got suspended. Moose Wala went on the run to avoid arrest. Also applied for bail but the court rejected it.
Moose Wala released a song named “Sanju.” In which he shows similarities between Sanjay Dutt and him. Later he was booked for promoting gun culture. He said that he was targeted by the media and lawyers.

Sidhu started a campaign to encourage people to stay inside their homes and wear masks. His banners were showing everywhere. He also night watches in his village, Moosa. Later these night watchers can be seen in the entire state. He also distributes rations to the needy.
Sidhu was the first singer to protest in the Farmer law protest. Later seeing him many Punjabi singers join the protest.
