Full-time: Broncos win 42-18
After taking the opportunity to add two more points with a penalty goal, Brisbane add a 80th-minute Billy Walters try to complete the scoring. Their second half hasn’t been great, but it was still more than enough following a blistering first 40 minutes. The Brisbane players will head home tonight thinking that a finals run is on the radar.
Late blow for Brisbane
Adam Reynolds hurt his shoulder in the first half but played on. He just hurt it again and this time his night is over. It’s reasonable to ask why he was still on the field considering what happened earlier and with the win in the bag. Brisbane lead 34-18 after 77 minutes
WATCH: Jacobs combine
Dogs score again and Mariner in the sin-bin
For a match that’s been as good as over since about the 25 minutes mark of the first half, there is still plenty of aggro in this game. Canterbury want to make amends while Brisbane are seeking to pile on more pain. Meanwhile, Canterbury have added a third try, courtesy of Bronson Xerri. As was the case with the first try, Viliam Kikau was instrumental. Brisbane lead 34-18 after 73 minutes

Preston scores
Canterbury are on their way to getting something positive to take from this match. Jacob Preston has scored after another Jacob – Kiraz – leapt well to collect a high kick. It 12-0 to Canterbury in the second half. Brisbane lead 34-12 after 58 minutes
WATCH: Montoya scores for Dogs
Dogs warned over repeated acts of foul play
In the first half it was a shoulder charge, this time a knee-raise when taking a hit-up. Sitili Tupouniua is having a very rough night.
Then, one tackle late, Marcelo Montoya is sent to the sin bin for a high tackle. That three Canterbury players to spend time off the field so far. By the time Montoya returns, Canterbury will have spend 30 of the first 64 minutes of the match a man down. It’s nowhere near the reason why they are so far behind, but it hasn’t helped. Brisbane lead 34-6 after 54 minutes

Stop the press: Canterbury score
Matt Burton and Viliame Kikau combine to send Marcelo Montoya over out wide. Not only did they go eight minutes without conceding a try, they then scored one themselves. That was more like the Bulldogs team we’ve been watching this year. Brisbane lead 34-6 after 47 minutes
