Ganguly conveyed his best wishes to the team for the upcoming final and emphasised that if India maintain the same level of performance displayed in the league phase and the semi-final, they will be a formidable force to contend with.
“India is looking smashing at the moment. I wish them all the best for Ahmedabad. India have played very well in the tournament, and just one match and Australia stand between them and the World Cup trophy. If India continue to play like how they have performed in the tournament so far, then it will be tough to stop them. It will be a good match as Australia has a good team as well,” Ganguly remarked.
Reflecting on India’s journey to the final, Ganguly acknowledged the team’s resilience in the semi-final against New Zealand, where they secured a win through Virat Kohli‘s world-record 50th ODI century, Shreyas Iyer’s second successive century in the World Cup, and Mohammed Shami’s impactful 7-wicket haul.
