NEW DELHI: Stand-in skipper Jasprit Bumrah was at his absolute best on Friday as his magical spell put India in command against Australia on the opening day of the first Border-Gavaskar Trophy Test in Perth.
Bumrah produced a fiery spell as his four-for had the hosts down on their knees at 67 for 7 at the close of play in front of a packed house at the Optus Stadium.
After India were shot down for 150 in their first innings, Bumrah and Co. made the perfect use of grassy and bouncy conditions, just like the Aussie quicks, as the hosts ended the day still 83 runs behind.
With Bumrah putting India in pole position, the social media doffed its hat to the pace spearhead. And amid all the praise, Bumrah had a special compliment from wife Sanjana Ganesan which was an instant hit on the internet.
