The staffy labrador cross, named Kujo, was shot after smashing through a window and attacking a police officer during the arrest of a 23-year-old man.
The police officer tried to Taser the canine before drawing his weapon and fatally shooting the six-year-old pet.
WA Police inspector Vic Hussey said the officer sustained lacerations to his face and ear, and was taken to hospital.

“He’s pretty shaken up as you can imagine,” he said.
“The actual arrest sounded as though it was quite violent.”
Kujo’s devastated owners claimed he was only trying to protect them, and that he wasn’t a violent dog. They are now calling for answers.
