Released from Russian custody, they were first taken to Turkey from where they headed to the US.

Biden said it felt wonderful and he was absolutely convinced that the US would get it done. “I meant what I said: Alliances make a difference,” Biden said.
Kamala Harris said it was an extraordinary day as he thanked the president for the deal.
“This is an extraordinary testament to the importance of having a president who understands the power of diplomacy and strengthening alliances,” she said. “This is an incredible day and you can see it in the families and in their eyes.”
On July 21, Biden announced he would not be contesting the presidential election and endorsed Kamala Harris as presidential probable. Since then, the pre-election scenario took an 180 degree turn as Democrats started a renewed campaigning for Harris challenging Donald Trump. Harris has bagged major endorsement and is believed to be nearing her search for the running mate.
Dismissing speculations over his health, Biden made several public appearances since then and was present to welcome the freed prisoners on Thursday.
