In her interview with Siddharth Kannan, Suchitra revealed that her husband Lars Kjeldsen had previously dated Preity Zinta, but maintained that she was not the cause of their separation.
Dismissing the notion of being a ‘boyfriend snatcher,’ Suchitra clarified, “No, that’s another story from somebody else. Preity and I were never friends, we were acquaintances because we had a common friend. But, yes, Lars Kjeldsen did date Preity Zinta for some time but that was the breakup he had before he met me and only this part is true. I didn’t come between them, they split up for a totally different reason.”

Reflecting on the incident that triggered the misleading label, she recalled the controversy arose when she returned from England and started dating Andrew Coyne, who was associated with Star Television in India. She was wrongly blamed for Andrew’s breakup with model Achla Sachdev. However, it wasn’t her doing, and Achala and Suchitra laugh about it now.
Suchitra Pillai and Lars Kjeldsen exchanged vows in 2005 and are proud parents to their daughter Annika Kjeldsen. Meanwhile, Preity Zinta married Gene Goodenough in 2016 and welcomed twins, Gia and Jai, through surrogacy in 2021.
