Kangana Ranaut announced the release date of ‘Tejas’ today, booking the festive occasion of Dussehra. She essays the titular role of Air Force officer Tejas Gill in this film, whose story revolves around the journey of a pilot and valiant soldiers who defend the country.
While announcing the project, Kangana called the film as ‘India’s first aerial action movie’. The actress took a cryptic dig at Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone starrer ‘Fighter’ which is also touted as India’s first first aerial action franchise.In this fight for the title, Kangana is making sure that ‘Tejas’ arrives before ‘Fighter’.
‘Tejas’ is scheduled to hit the screens on October 20, while ‘Fighter’ will release on January 25, 2024. Directed by Sarvesh Mewara, ‘Tejas’ also stars Varun Mitra. While ‘Fighter’ is helmed by Siddharth Anand, who had called the shots for the blockbuster ‘Pathaan’. Speaking about the film, Siddharth Anand had said in a statement, “‘Fighter’ is a dream project. With this film we aim to put Indian films on the map for action-loving global theatrical audiences who crave for spectacle and the big screen experience.”
