According to early estimates, Gadar2 will again cross Rs 30 crore mark on day 6.
ABox Office India report suggests that the day 6 collection may even go up to Rs 35 crore as current booking continues to pull huge crowds in theatres.
The movie is looking to wrap up its first week collection in the Rs 280-290 crore nett range, which will be the second highest collection after Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan. Going by the mass hysteria, Gadar 2 is likely to hold its ground strong in its second week as well.
On Monday, the Gadar 2 team held a press conference about the film’s huge success. Sharing how he initially reacted seeing the audience’s love for Gadar 2, Sunny said, “I was quite stressed before the release of the movie. When the movie was released, I cried and laughed the entire night. My father was around and he saw me. I told him, ‘I have not had alcohol. Main khush aa main ki kara (I am happy, what can I do)’.”
There’s no doubt that Gadar 2 has set a new benchmark in Indian cinema by shattering records at the box office. The film is a sequel to the 2001 blockbuster Gadar: Ek Prem Katha. It is set in 1971 and follows Tara Singh’s journey to Pakistan to rescue his son, Charanjeet Singh from the Pakistani Army. The original was set during the Partition.
