During a past appearance on Simi Garewal‘s show, Gauri shared how Shah Rukh restricted her clothing choices, while he admitted to trying to control her and acting poorly. A clip of this conversation has recently gone viral on Reddit.

In the clip, Gauri shared that SRK didn’t allow her to wear white shirts, as he thought they were too transparent. SRK interrupted, explaining it was the transparency he was concerned about. He also mentioned that if she were his girlfriend, she wouldn’t be allowed to wear white shirts or leave her hair open.
Shah Rukh explained that, at the time, he felt a sense of insecurity about not being able to publicly show his relationship with Gauri. He admitted that this led him to act possessive and controlling, which he recognized as “cheap” behavior, but confessed that he found some satisfaction in it.
Gauri shared that she responded to Shah Rukh’s possessiveness by kicking him out and leaving him for a long time. She made it clear that he needed to learn from the experience. Shah Rukh later admitted his mistake, and today, the couple is considered one of Bollywood’s most iconic pairs.
The clip gained attention after Sangeeta Bijlani recently shared how Salman Khan prohibited her from wearing short clothes. In a recent appearance on Indian Idol 15, she revealed that Salman had restrictions on her clothing choices, specifically not allowing her to wear short clothes.
When a contestant asked Sangeeta if she would change anything in her career, she shared how she felt restricted during her relationship with her ex (Salman). She explained that she couldn’t wear certain clothes, like short dresses, as there were specific guidelines about her appearance. Initially, she did wear such clothes, but later, she wasn’t allowed to. Sangeeta added that she used to be reserved but is more confident now, jokingly calling herself “gundi” (bold).
Although Sangeeta didn’t name Salman directly, fans quickly recognized she was referring to him. Vishal Dadlani also mimicked Salman’s way of speaking while encouraging her to name the actor, but Sangeeta politely declined.
