Law enforcement cleared a library at Oregon’s Portland State University for a second time Thursday night, with the day’s arrests there reaching at least 30, as pro-Palestinian protests and resulting police actions continued to roil the campus and many others across the country. In New York, police said that an officer at Columbia University who fired a gun on Tuesday discharged the weapon accidentally and that no one was hurt.
