But the claim that Tim Walz lied about his dog Scout was fake news and the post was called out by other social media users — but not before it was widespread. “Yes, this is Tim Walz tweeting about his dog Scout. Only problem is that these are two completely different dogs,” the post by Dustin Grage whose X bio calls him a ‘Minnesota GOP Hype Man’ said.

The photo with a different dog was taken from a video where Scout was playing with a different dog but the photo had only Tim Walz and the second dog — not Scout. The misleading claim was based on a video that Walz posted on his social media account. “Couldn’t think of a better way to spend a beautiful fall day than at the dog park. I know Scout enjoyed it,” Walz wrote.
Former Fox News host Kimberley Guilfoyle, who is engaged to Donald Trump Jr, said: “Wait so Walz is even lying about his dog? Ruff stuff.”
“Why would Tim Walz do this? It’s Creepy and Weird,” Missouri senator Eric Schmitt said.
Many social media users asked Grage to delete the tweet but he didn’t and said the Left was outraged over Scout Gate. “They will happily make up a story about JD Vance but lose their minds over online trolls making fun of Tim Walz’s trail of lies,” Grage said and later promoted his account also as his post got a huge traction.
“Hey Dusty, I took the photo of the Governor with the red heeler mix. Guess what? Scout was at the dog park with him that morning. Being purposefully obtuse is dumb, knock it off,” one Clara Severson rapped Grage claiming that she took the photo of Tim Walz at the dog park.
