JD Vance‘s approval rating might be done but that is not stopping the 39-year-old from making public appearances and interacting with the media. Despite his couch-sex rumor, childless cat ladies comments and others, Vance wants to include the press more and more in all his events as his strategy is “come-at-me”. The Yale law grad who is always in news for the wrong reason is less popular than his rival Tim Walz but JD is always ready to take hostile interviews.
An Axios report said Vance has done 94 interviews, press conferences and gaggles with the media and has actively courted adversarial outlets that Republicans often avoid. According to a campaign count, Vance has give nearly as many as interviews to traditional media outlets as he has to conservative media. Vance did all five major Sunday shows in the past month, including three of them in one day.
Now, JD Vance has signed up for a “tough conversation” with NY Times’ “The Interview” podcast.
Amid the mounting pressure of controversies that JD addressed head-on, there were speculations that Trump may replace his running mate. But insiders now claim that Trump is actually happy and taking pride in JD’s selection as there could be no better attack-dog like JD who exceeded Trump’s expectation. An NYT report hinted that Trump was initially troubled seeing the deluge of attack on JD Vance but Republican veterans did not expect that JD would not shy away from a single one and would only step up his attack.
JD’s latest controversy involved a 2007 Miss Teen USA contestant whose video JD shared to attack Kamala Harris. JD did not apologize for it and said people should just laugh it off. “Politics has got way too lame,” Vance said to anchor John Berman. “You can have some fun while making an argument to the American people about improving their lives. I’m not going to apologize for posting a joke – but I wish the best for Caitlin and hope she’s doing well.” JD said.
