Most friendships in the entertainment business begin and end on the sets of a film. Deep bonds are formed on film sets and then forgotten once the shooting ends.
Shabana Azmi and Jaya Bachchan who have become thick as thieves on the sets of Karan Johar’s Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, have decided to make sure that their friendship continues beyond the film.
Explains Shabana, “I have always been a fan of Jayaji, and now we are friends.Neither of us wants to let go of that friendship. We enjoy one another’s company immensely. Our conversations are never-ending. And to think we play adversaries in the film!”And how does Shabana intend to keep the newly formed dosti alive?
Shabana explains, “It isn’t that difficult. I have many friends from the industry whom I’ve not worked with for years. My husband Javed and I like to bond beyond work with friends. Jaya ji and I used to bump into one another at social gatherings. But we never had a chance to sit and chat as we did during the shooting of Rocky Aur Rani… For this, I have Karan Johar to thank.”
Jaya, not known to go out of her way to make friends, is also gung-ho about her new saheli. “I never knew we were so similar. And I don’t make temporary friends,” says Jaya.
