Bollywood actress Nushrratt Bharuccha had an emotional moment when she was presented with the opportunity to than Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his swift action that ensured her safe return from Israel during the 2023 conflict.
The actress, during her recent appearance at an event, attended by the PM, recounted her ordeal and expressed deep gratitude. Bharuccha, was stranded in Israel, along with several other Indians, while attending the Haifa International Film Festival amidst escalating tensions in the region. During her appearance at a CNN-News18 event in New Delhi, shared pictures from her meeting with the PM on Instagram and wrote in her post, “It was an incredible privilege to thank you in person, Modi Ji, for your unwavering leadership and the swift action taken by your government to bring back Indian citizens, including myself, stranded in Israel during the recent conflict.”
She also shared a heartfelt message in Gujarati, saying, “Aap no aa mulakat badal khub khub aabhar… Maari mate aa zindagi bhar ni yaadgir reh se (Thank you very much for this meeting… This will remain a lifelong memory for me).”
A video from the event saw the actress greeting the PM with folded hands. In a brief exchange, the Prime Minister revealed that the actress sent his team a message which enabled the swift action. “Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart,” Nushrratt replied.
The actress also reflected on the traumatic experience, calling it the most harrowing time of her life. She admitted that she feared whether she would be able to see her family and friends again amidst the escalating tensions. “I thought this was it, it was done,” she said.
