The re-release of Sanam Teri Kasam, directed by Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru, has exceeded expectations, garnering twice the love compared to its original 2016 release. The film’s resurgence at the box office has left its cast and crew ecstatic. Now, in a recent interview, actress Mawra Hocane, who played the beloved Saru, has addressed the much-anticipated sequel and the possibility of reprising her role alongside Harshvardhan Rane.
Speaking to Connect Cine, Mawra shared her excitement about a potential sequel while remaining open to any casting decision. “If it’s possible for me to be a part of it, I’d love to, but even if it isn’t, there’s no hard feelings,” she said. She expressed her enthusiasm for Sanam Teri Kasam 2 but emphasized that she would be content even if someone else took on her role.

Mawra also praised producer Deepak Mukut, acknowledging his hard work and stating that he truly deserves the film’s newfound success. She wished him the best and expressed hope that the sequel would reach even greater heights, regardless of her involvement.
Harshvardhan Rane and Mawra Hocane made their Bollywood debuts with Sanam Teri Kasam, a romantic drama that initially underperformed at the box office. However, its recent re-release has outperformed its original collection within just two days.
In the same interview, Mawra, who recently tied the knot with Pakistani actor Ameer Gilani, reacted to the film’s massive success, attributing it to her marriage luck. “To be honest, if the film has waited nine years to achieve these numbers, I think it’s my husband bringing in the luck for sure. Because the only thing that has changed since then is this (my wedding),” she said playfully.
Reflecting on the immense love the film continues to receive, Mawra expressed gratitude, “It is unbelievable for me too, the love that we are receiving. I can see some things, and I am sure I am missing out on a lot. But all that I can see is very overwhelming. I can only be grateful for it.”
Mawra and Ameer recently exchanged vows in an intimate ceremony attended by close friends and family. The couple, who starred together in Pakistani dramas like Sabaat and Neem, had long been rumored to be in a relationship. Though they never publicly confirmed their romance, their wedding photos left fans elated.
