He has achieved that remarkable feat in the same calendar year – 2023. A feat that will remain in record books for a long time.”
After the success of the movie, Shah Rukh Khan held a press conference and spoke about the humongous numbers the film has been collecting. He had said, “It’s a celebration. We rarely get a chance to live with a film for years. The making of Jawan has been going on for four years due to Covid and time constraints. There were a lot of people involved in this film, especially people from the South who came and settled in Mumbai and have been living in Mumbai for the last four years and working day and night for this film, which is the hardest work ever.”
Director Atlee, in an exclusive interview with ETimes spoke about having a 100 percent success ratio with all his films. He had said “I don’t know what success is or what is a flop. I don’t know. Genuinely, you have to be very happy about what you’re doing. And it should create happiness and it should create responsibility after getting the material done. So that’s how I see it. And till now, I feel the same as I did on my first film. Even today, I’m doing the same thing I was as a debut filmmaker. Whatever connects to my heart, I have to give that happiness to others. If they feel happy, I feel happy. I don’t think ratio-wise, I don’t ponder about whether we have done a successful film or not. I stick to my happiness. Whether my happiness is reflecting on screen and even the audience are getting happy or not? If they don’t get happy, that’s the day I’m going to feel, ‘Oh! it’s not working’. This is what I feel about the success ratio and that’s my understanding of giving a plus and minus.”
Jawan also starred Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi Sanya Malhotra, Priyamani, Girija Oak, Sanjeeta Bhattacharya, Lehar Khan, Aaliyah Qureshi, Ridhi Dogra, Sunil Grover and Mukesh Chhabra. Deepika Padukone and Sanjay Dutt had special appearances in the film, too.
