‘Devara: Part 1’ which released on Friday had a bumper opening. The film starring Jr NTR, Janhvi Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan made around Rs 82.5 crore on Day 1 in India, all languages combined. Obviously, as expected, the Telugu version of the movie had the highest number of around Rs 73 crore, while the Hindi version opened at around Rs 7 crore.
The film’s overall business did see a downfall on Saturday and Sunday as compared to the Friday numbers though. While on Day 1, the movie garnered Rs 82.5 crore total in all languages, the Saturday and Sunday numbers are Rs 38.2 crore and Rs 40.03 crore respectively, according to Sacnilk. However, what’s interesting is how the Hindi version of the movie has seen a huge jump on Sunday. It made Rs 11 crore in Hindi. The Telugu collection of Sunday is around Rs 27 crore.
With that, the total collection of the movie in three days, in all languages, now stands at Rs 161 crore, of which Rs 128 crore is from the Telugu version while Rs 27 crore is from Hindi. This collection from the Hindi belt is very good, considering the fact that Jr NTR’s popularity is just slowing growing in the northern markets post ‘RRR’. This is also very crucial for him, as he’s now slowly gotten himself popular enough to be called a Pan-Indian star. He will be seen next in ‘WAR 2‘ with Hrithik Roshan next.
Meanwhile, the weekday collections of the movie will now further determine its fate at the box office. Let’s wait and watch if it passes the Monday test!
