Stock market today: BSE Sensex and Nifty50, the Indian equity benchmark indices started on a positive note in the opening session on Friday.
The NSE Nifty 50 reached a new all-time high, gaining 0.25% at 23,627.10, and BSE Sensex jumps 200 points adding 0.23% to 77,650.48 as of 9.15 am.
The BSE 30 surged by 329.52 points in early trading, reaching its all time high at 77,808.45.
Tech Mahindra, Infosys, HCL Technologies, Tata Consultancy Services, Wipro, Bajaj Finserv, Power Grid and IndusInd Bank were the top gainers.
Tata Steel, Hindustan Unilever, Kotak Mahindra Bank, and HDFC Bank were among the companies that lagged behind.
On Thursday the BSE Sensex extended its winning streak to the sixth consecutive session, rising 141.34 points or 0.18% to close at a new record high of 77,478.9. The index experienced an intraday high of 77,643.09, gaining 305.5 points or 0.39%.
BSE benchmark has surged by 1,022.34 points or 1.3% over the past six trading days.
NSE Nifty also reached a new closing high, increasing by 51 points or 0.22% to settle at 23,567. During the trading session, it reached an intraday high of 23,624, gaining 108 points or 0.45%.
Asian markets followed the weak global cues, with several major indices experiencing declines. Hong Kong, Shanghai, Seoul, Wellington, Taipei, and Manila all down. However, Singapore, Sydney, and Jakarta managed to edge higher, while Tokyo remained flat.
US stock markets concluded the trading session on Thursday with mixed results. Nvidia faced a loss of 3.5%, down turning the company’s impressive eight-week winning streak in jeopardy. S&P 500 and Nasdaq fell.
