Rameez disappears, leaving Shalini pregnant and unable to marry. Their religious leader advises Shalini to marry someone who is a good person and accepts Shalini and gives her unborn child a name, which leads her to convert to Islam and change her name to Fatima. Fatima accompanies her new husband Ishak to Syria, where she discovers the harsh reality of her life.

In a parallel story, Gitanjali’s relationship with Abdul ends, and he makes her private videos public on the internet, resulting in her suicide.
