In Sindhi community, it is a one of the main traditions of marriage that bride need to change their first name also with surname, it symbolizes the new birth of the bride.

But personally, I think it is an old custom but now it become the burden on the woman because she needs to change her every personal document, it takes sometimes months or years and in between she loses the identity that she made before the marriage.
