I truly believe the fact is true to my knowledge. Although not all South Indian films get popular. But only a few types of movies and a few genres get popular in the North. Only a few critically acclaimed movies and recognized and appreciated not only in the north but around the globe. Notably, the nineties were certainly the era of Bollywood with comparatively low standards. And to be noted films of this type get high popularity in the north for this was the reason, no offense induced. Mostly the movie is wrapped around the hero of the film. All the characters along or beside the hero support and complement the hero all through the film. All characters except the hero help the hero to cross the hurdles he comes across which are willingly placed by the scriptwriter to spice up the theme and to show the heroism and the valiance of the hero, the villain, and the social issues. The social issues are specially designed to enhance the hero and his heroic acts, the importance of villains and the need for change in society. The hero in a film is way larger than life. The reason behind the popularity is that most of the audience belongs to the nineties era regardless of the fact about metro culture and modern society. Though the lifestyle has changed, the mind still remains in the nineties era where the boy of the girl cut their hand for a love failure. Since Bollywood has been globalized, there is rarely any film that connects to the era. This is a biggest drawback of the industry. The magic of that era has gone extinct due to the fame it has earned over the years. At this point, the Bollywood industry is in dilemma, since it cannot go back to that era, which will not be helpful. While the majority of the audience lives the cute love of the day-to-day scenario and the hero who fights with 10-12 goons at the same time. So the North Indian audience has created an appetite for both themes. Whereas South Indian audiences are already catered to their needs. The South Indian audience is well known for its fanaticism towards the hero and the heroism, they are not very much fantasized by the modern-day heroism which never matches the heightened standards of the South Indians. All good Hindi films have a fine level and produce nearly 300 movies on average. Due to this high number the quality of the film has lost its personal touch, that personal touch will give an unexpected boost to the film. That touch still remains fresh in the South Indian film, no matter how much evolution it undergoes. And I personally hope that this is the reason behind the popularity of South Indian films in the North.
